“Africa is Rich in Natural Resources Yet, Backward & Underdeveloped”,SEGAL Boss Momo T. Cyrus Underscores

IPNews-Monrovia: The Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Security Expert Guards Agency of Liberia (SEGAL) Momo T. Cyrus says ‘Africa is rich in natural resources but is backward and under developed’due to several factors including insincerity and lack of comprehensive empowerment.

Speaking Thursday January 30, 2020, when he presented his international awards to SEGAL Security personel across Liberia, Mr. Cyrus stated that Africa has huge potential to develop once she puts in place the necessary practical work to move forward.

The security expert observed that over the period Africans received huge contracts from Westerners to do business and for developmental activities but failed to reap its dividend due to insecurity as well as the technical know-how, which are vices that needs of change

“We need to re-look at various contracts to ensure that it benefits directly, the people” the “SEGAL’s Boss noted.

His comments come in the wake of recent award to the SEGAL Security services by panelists in London, United Kingdom were he had gone to participate in the African Leadership Hall of Fame –Class of 2020 dialogue.

Mr. Cyrus addressing the media upon arrival said that the award is dedicated to the hard working and committed staff of “SEGAL” who over the years rendered professional services to its clients by providing quality and professional security services.

According to him the award speaks volume of what Liberia can do as a nation and people once there is determination, focus mind, professionalism, trust and love for Country among others.

He said the recognition of Liberia and “SEGAL” is just an ice breaker and an additional appetite as he that he will do more to put Liberia back on the map through necessary initiatives in the best interest of the nation and its people.

In a move to see a new approach in empowering Liberians and Africans, the Security executive wants empowerment as well as training of legal and procurement officers across the continent to ensure that they step up to their game and do the right professional things possible instead of always bringing on board foreign nationals.

Additionally, he appealed to Africans and Liberians in general to practice the spirit of sincerity in all that they do-making specific reference to the repayment of loans to other big business people as well as investors.

“I notice that paying back loan is a serious challenge among African Business people and we need to graduate from such and build on the culture of sincerity which our forefathers taught us, Momo intoned.

Mr. Cyrus was the only Liberian to be inducted into the African Leadership hall of fame –Class of 2020.
