Jefferson Koijee Descends on Justice Minister Musa Dean ; Is the Exit Door an Option??

IPNews-Monrovia-Liberia-Tuesday 27 November 2018: One of the man characterized by many as  President George Weah’s  ‘untouchable’,  Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee has blasted Justice Minister Cllr. Musa Dean for poorly handing recent political violence in district number thirteen by-election.

Mayor Koijee stated that it was unbelievable that a sitting government official was  accused of carrying arms during a political rally by a sitting Senator and yet  Justice Minister is yet to institute investigation into establishing the authenticity of the accusation.

“It is unfortunate that we have a Justice Minister here who has refused to institute investigation in the wake of a grave accusation on a senior government officials of carrying arms during a political rally by a sitting Senator of Grand Bassa County, and the Justice Ministry  cannot do anything about it! I am disappointed and call on the Justice Minister to correct the errors committed,”

“Look! We run a government here and we have a Justice Minister here that is duty bond to protect lives and properties regardless of the status of a particular person and he sits there watching these kinds of gross bridge of the law continue.  I call on you Mr. Justice Minister to do the right thing.” Koijee contended.

It may be recall that rival partisans of the Coalition of Democratic Change and the Coalition comprising the Unity Party, Liberty Party, the ANC and the All Liberian Party, battled in stone-throwing nearly two weeks ago, during final campaign rallies ahead of the Montserrado by-elections in district number thirteen in  which candidate Edward Flomo AKA “Color Green”,  was  declared winner by the National Elections Commission.

During the violence Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence pointed finger at Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee, of carrying side arm while he led youths of the governing Coalition for Democratic Change-CDC to campaign rally of the Coalition-UP candidate Cornelia Kruah-Togba.

The youthful Mayor speaking further call on Liberians to begin looking at the greater good of the country’s and stop the negative  imagery including politicizing each thing.

He emphasized that contrary to disbelieve of opposition not to see the government  succeed , the government is  committed to continuing various negotiations amid at ensuring  Liberia return to its glorious past under the distinguish leadership of President George Manneh Weah.

Mayor Koijee  furthermore reassured residents of the city of Monrovia that the City Corporation under his stewardship is endeavoring to ensure a clean and well structured city in the coming months- stressing that the City Corporation is been financially burdened  but efforts were been made to ensure the best sanitary condition of the City of Monrovia and its environs.

In responds to accusation from many critics of this lack of tertiary educational, Mayor Koijee  avail some of this University credentials and call on critics to go beyond of mere criticism and stop the crab mentality and foster national cohesiveness .

It may be recall Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee , recently hosted a two days solid waste stakeholders conference at the Monrovia City Corporation with the signing of resolution for a sustainable development of waste management support in Monrovia.

The resolution, amongst other things, focused on increasing national budgetary support for the management of waste in Monrovia, identifying revenue resources for waste and supporting  the value chain for waste  which include recycling and reusing .

The resolution also calls for citizens action to support the waste sector, rally the local community to take responsibility of waste they produce and obligate the local business community to MCC’s waste management program.

Representatives from various groupings including key actors within the waste sector who affixed their signatures to the resolution said the document will drive MCC’s solid waste management plan in order to address the waste challenges the city is faced with.

The Monrovia City Corporation is currently faced with huge financial and logistical constrains which often make it difficult in tackling the dangling waste problems within its municipality.

Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee speaking at the opening of the conference declared waste management a “potential national security threat” which requires a head-on- approach.

The Mayor of the City of Monrovia said improper waste disposal is a national security threat which requires a set of holistic approaches anchored on firm community engagement.

The Mayor referenced the rapid spread of the 2014 outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus which he noted, can be traced to the fundamentally challenge of waste management in Monrovia and other areas.

Koijee pointed that no other time is better than now for stakeholders in communities, the environment and waste management sectors to develop and derive a sustainable plan to address the menace.

According to Mayor Koijee, the citizens of Monrovia and surrounding areas must dialogue derive at a lasting solution by which all can proudly boast of their capital city.

He vowed that the City government will not hesitate to implement or enforce the outcome of the stakeholders dialogue which seeks to promote a healthy, clean and green environment.
