Jurors Hangs Down Verdict ON PSU Officer

IPNews-Monrovia,Liberia-20 June 2018: The Grand Jurors have hanged down its verdict against Police officer Papie M. Vinton who allegedly murdered his victim John Albert for face cap.

The verdict was hanged down by jurors after the final legal arguments between the prosecution and the defense teams in the case of a police officer accused of killing his friend for face cap has ensured at criminal court “A” at the Temple Justice.

Defendant Papie M. Vinton a police officer of the Liberia National Police (LNP) residing in the Airfield Community verdict was reserved by the Grand Jury of Criminal Court “A”, until further determination.

It may be recall  that defendant Papie M. Vinton serving in the capacity as an officer of the Liberia National Police (PSU) and charged with the responsibility to protect life and property, took a piece of stick and struck the deceased John Albert on his head.

According to court documents “A person is guilty of murder” if (a) purposely knowingly causes the death of another being, or (b)causes the death of another human being under circumstance manifesting extreme indifference to the value of life.

A rebuttable presumption that such indifference exists arises if the defendant is engaged or is an accomplice in the commission of, or an attempt to commit, or fight after committing or attempting to commit. The act of which caused the death of another human being.
