IPNews-Monrovia, Liberia- 23 March 2018:Geebamu International Inc. has donated assorted medical supplies to two health centers in Margibi County worth over US$10,000.

The two health centers that benefited are the Unification Town Health Center and the Marshall Health Center respectively.

Items donated were cartons of isolation yellow gown, gloves, mattresses, walkers, urine meter foley tray, paper tissue dispensers, ultra-pure non-woven sponges, cartons of surgical masks and a carton of PPEs among others.

Presenting the supplies to the various health centers on behalf of the organization recently, the international director of Geebamu International, Josephine Sekajipo said the donation was their own way of identifying with the health centers to be able to cater to the health needs of the people they serve.

According to Sekajibo, her organization thought to stop back to give the two facilities the medical items.

“We just want to present this little token to the community clinic and we hope that this will be used for the purpose it was intended for, and the little one that we are giving, we know that it is small but the little you have, the bigger one will come and we hope you all will appreciate whatever we are giving you all,” she said.

For his part, Geebamu International Minnesota branch director, Samuel Ben said Geebamu was established several years ago to cater to the medical needs of their people through the provision of medical supplies.

He noted that the aim and objective of the organization is to reach out to their people. “Our goal is not only looking back to where we came from but to reach back to where we came from, and today it demonstrates to you people” he added.

Mr. Ben indicated that several years ago the institution has been giving supplies but this year it decided to focus on Margibi County especially the lower part of the from whence he came.

He said it was fortunate for the international director to agree to his idea to have the supplies taken to the county. Ben however noted that the organization comprises of sons and daughters of Margibi and other counties.

Meanwhile, the officers-in-charge of the Unification Town Health Center and the Marshall Health Center, Woiyea Dorbor and Dorithy Miller Padmore, receiving the items at their respective work places thanked Geebamu International for the gesture and promised to use them for the intended purpose.

The city mayors of Unification City and Marshall City, Esther Kiawu and Robert Williams said they were grateful for the donations made to their various health centers and said the donated items are not small as their citizens need such items.
