IPNews-Monrovia, Liberia-22 March 2018: Cognoscente of the prevailing conditions of Health workers across the country, new Health Minister, Dr. Wilemina Jallah, has assured health workers in the country of governments greatest desire to improving the salaries, benefits and living conditions of health workers in Liberia.

Dr. Wilemina Jallah, comments come just a day as hundreds of nurses gathered before the Executive Mansion Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in apparent demand for stipends and other benefits from the government.

Though the group of nurses refused to provide reasons for which the gathering was called, pundits surmised that they have gathered in demand of stipends and other fringe benefits.

The health sector which was hit by the scourge of the Ebola virus disease in 2014, is facing a number of challenges ranging from supply of essential medical drugs, hospital equipment and staff benefits and welfare.

It can be recalled that the Ministry of Health is still grappling with reported ghost names on its payroll, suggesting that many of these health workers could be either affected, for which they are seeking redress.

Draped in their traditional all over white, some of the nurses wore lab coats and dresses and were seen waiting in an apparent mood to see President George Manneh Weah at his Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

While on their way to the President`s office, the leader of the group, who refused to be identified, said he was not speaking to the media.
