IPNews-Monrovia, Liberia- 21 March 2018: The Civil Law Court at the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Montserrado County has filed an action of ‘Wrongful Damages’, against New Africa Technology Company (NATCO).
In the case involving Mrs. Gail Cisco, plaintiff and NATCO, defendant, Circuit Judge J. Boimah Konto said the following entitled the cause of action of complains of and against the defendant company.
That plaintiff says and avers that on Thursday, May 4, 2017 plaintiff was a guest in her sister’s parked vehicle on Randall street, opposite Abi jauodi Supermarket; while she was disembarking therefrom, the defendant company’s unlicensed driver carelessly, recklessly and speedily reversed the defendant company’s vehicle with license plate NATCO-4 into her sister’s parked vehicle, smashing the door at which plaintiff was disembarking from and severely injuring her left wrist and left jaw; damaging two teeth of the plaintiff’s; one fell off from her mouth and dropped on the floor of the damaged vehicle and the other cracked.
The broken glasses from the vehicle door cut plaintiff in her mouth and some of the broken glasses bruised her head.
The plaintiff says that on May 5, 2017, the day after the motor road accident the defendant company, by and through its head of operations executed a letter of commitment in favor of the Coopers and plaintiff; among other things, firstly, admitting liability for the accident; Secondly, promising to provide for the use of the Coopers, meaning, Mr. Randolph Cooper and Mrs. Eudeen Cooper, a standard SUV until their damaged vehicle is repaired. Thirdly, stating that medical expenses for the injured lady (meaning Mrs. Gail Cisco, the plaintiff) will be borne by the defendant`s company.
