IPNews-Monrovia, Liberia-13 February 13 2018: Oriental Lodge No. 1, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, has presented assorted clothing to the Group of 77 on New Port Street.
Oriental Lodge No.1, is the first Masonic Lodge operating under the direction of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Liberia, with its Grand Master as Most Worshipful Brother James E. Pierre, 330.
Marking his introductory remarks, the Junior Warden, of the Lodge, Bro. Dickson Doe, stated that Oriental Lodge No. 1, was happily celebrating the Arm Forces Day with the underprivileged people of the Group of 77, as a way of showing love and affection in accordance with Masonic principles to always aid the underprivileged especially the Widows’ and Orphans.
Presenting the assorted clothing, Oriental Lodge No.1, Worshipful Master, Lavala Koboi Johnson, Sr., stated that his Lodge was pleased to identify with the Group of 77 especially after the appointment of a new Executive Director, Madam Wayfa F. Ciapha.
Worshipful Master Koboi Johnson assured members of the Group of 77, that being a physically challenged person do not in any way put you apart of the rest of the human race.
“Let me tell you my brothers and sisters of the Group of 77, you are very special and you should know that. Some of you here today could be president of Liberia tomorrow and so do not allow anyone to put you down that you are not capable to serve in any public office”. Mr. Johnson motivated the Group of 77.
He encouraged members of the Group of 77, to unite in purpose with meaningful ideas that gear towards moving Liberia forward. Stressing you have all of the qualities any living being needs to survive and nothing should ever stop you from achieving it.
The Worshipful Master Koboi Johnson further told the Group of 77, that Oriental Lodge No. 1, believed that in the midst of the underprivileged there are great talents that could be used for the betterment of Liberia and that’s why the Oriental Lodge No. 1, sees it befitting to fellowship with the sisters and brothers of the Group of 77 in a more hobble way.
“ You see our Lodge, Oriental Lodge No. 1, is so gratified that you warmly welcome us to fellowship with you in a more hobble way. We believed that you have great talents and potential to collectively contributing to the rebuilding process of Liberia and seemingly you can”. Worshipful Master Koboi Johnson asserted .
On behalf of the Group of 77, its Executive Wayfa F. Ciapha, commended both Oriental Lodge N0. 1 and Queen Esther No.1 Order of the Eastern Star, for the donation, importantly for taking out time to fellowship with all members of the Group of 77.
“I don’t know how to even put this. Oriental Lodge No. 1, we the officers and members of the Group of 77, thank you. We thank you because you see us as your friend, and your family. Look at the food and drinks you’ve brought here today to eat with us? We say thank you! Madam Ciapha , marveled .
Madam Ciapha, also lauded Oriental Lodge No. 1, for being the first group of philanthropic organization to identify with the Group of 77 since the coming inception of the new government of President George Weah .
She further call on Oriental Lodge No. 1, to closely worked with the leadership of the Group of 77 to ensure the construction project currently going on for the new home for members of the Group of 77 reach a finishing point.
“ We want to see the Group of 77 transform with your help, Oriental Lodge; We want to ensure underprivileged are given equal opportunities in line with our policy and plans”. Madam Ciapha said.
Earlier on Sunday evening, Oriental Lodge No. 1, hosted an appreciation and family day for sister and Brethren of both Queen Esther No.1 and Oriental Lodge No. 1.
The even brought together old and current members of Oriental Lodge No. 1 A.F. & A.M., in an all-day meet and greet session interspersed with jokes, dances and variety of food and drinks.
At that family day event, Oriental Lodge presented purse to all its living Widows’ in accordance with the principles of the Lodge.
