Pres. George M. Weah Makes First Appointments in Government

IPNews-Monrovia, Liberia-22 January 2018: The office of H.E. Amb. George Manneh Weah , President of the Republic of Liberia , has announced the appointment of the following persons in government pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate barely a day after been sworn in as Liberia’s 24th President.

The Commander in Chief of the Arm Forces of Liberia, H.E. President George Manneh Weah has retired with immediate effect the Chief of Staff of the Arm Forces of Liberia, Major General Daniel Ziahnkan; and is hereby appointed as Minister of National Defense , while his Deputy Chief of Staff, Brig. General Prince Charles Johnson III, is hereby appointed Chief of Staff of the Arm Forces of Liberia with immediate effect with the rank of Major General. Those  appointments are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

Meanwhile, H.E. President George Manneh Weah, President of Liberia, has by directive ordered the Heads of the following Government Agencies and Ministries to on until further notice.

Those concern are Hon. Len Eugene Nagbe , Minister of Information, Minister of Education, Hon. George K. Werner, The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Varney Sirleaf, The Inspector General of the Liberia National Police, Hon. Gregory Coleman, and the Director of General Services Agency, Hon. Mary Broh.

The release also mandates that all other Ministries and Public Corporations will be supervised by the Director of Human Resource until further notice.
