IPNEWS:: The Global Justice, Peace, and Human Rights Advocacy Network (GJPHRAN), led by Amb Dr. Marie Scott Wilson extends heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the esteemed speaker of the Republic of Liberia, 55th Legislature, House of Representatives, Hon. Cllr. Jonathan Fonati Koffa, for his pivotal role in advancing the cause for the WECC.
According to a release from GJPHRAN, Speaker Koffa’s efforts in placing the WECC on the Legislative agenda, fostering a free debate, and leading the passage of the resolution to establish the WECC have been invaluable and demonstrate committed leadership to seeking justice for victims, and Liberia.
GJPHRAN also extends its sincere appreciation to the dedicated senators who took the significant step of signing the resolution. Their actions enabled H.E. President Joseph Nyumah Boakai to not only sign the resolution but also issue Executive Order 131, thereby establishing the Office for War Crime and Corruption Court. This crucial development aims to bring closure to victims and their families while simultaneously opening the corridor for more jobs, investors, tourism, peace, and stability to flourish across the nation.
GJPRAN congratulates President Joseph Nyumah Boakai’s Executive Order 131 as a historical moment in Liberia. The executive order is a decisive step towards addressing wrongs of the past and setting the foundation for a more stable and accountable governance. President Boakai’s action acknowledges that war is an uncivilized means to resolve governing issues and underscores a new path to deepen democratic leadership in Liberia.
GJPRAN also recognizes Executive Order 131 as a monumental vehicle for reconciliation, to address the vexing Liberian complexities through healing from nearly two decades ago, following the end of one of the human’s bloody uncivil wars that wrecked the entire Liberian landscape, leaving more than 250, 000 deads, twice wounded, and millions shattered internally and in the Diaspora.
“While celebrating this historic moment, GJPHRAN reinforces its earlier caution against unfair administration of justice. Accused persons should not be tried based on evidence produced as a result of diabolical witness recruitment, witness coaching, and witness payment, to present false testimonies in Court.”
“Records from other Liberian war crimes trials associate three NGOs in such corrupt Justice practices: Center for Justice & Accountability of California, USA; Civitas Maxima of Geneva, Switzerland; and Hassan Bility’s Global Justice & Research Project.” The GJPHRAN release notes.
GJPHRAN release further noted that according to international reports, these organizations orchestrated a scheme for personal gain, posturing as crusaders for justice, in a criminal conspiracy that produced false evidence which led to the acquittal of accused war criminals. Such mercenaries of fortune organizations colors the integrity and moral grounding for a War Crimes administration of justice.
GJPHRAN believes that in the interest of justice, these marketers of fraud advocacy should not be allowed as participants in the Liberian WECC process.
