IPNews-Monrovia: The plenary of the House of Representatives has cited authorities of the John F. Kennedy Medical (JFK) Hospital for breach of health privacy.<\/p>\n

Plenary took the decision hours ago at its Thursday, July 2, following a communication from Grand Bassa County Representative Thomas Goshua.<\/p>\n

It may be recalled, hours after report emerged about the passing of Sinoe County district No. 2 Representative, J. Nagbe Sloh, photage of his lifeless body was seen on various social media platforms, including a video of the late Representative being worked on by a Native Doctor.<\/p>\n

Rep. Goshua in his communication to his colleagues, complained that the photograph of their fallen colleague while being admitted at the JFK Memorial Hospital is currently being displayed in grossly columns on social media with denigrating comments from all viewers without regard to his family and the Honorable Hiuse of Representative.<\/p>\n

The Grand Bassa County wonders how the picture of their fallen statesman got into the public glare when they\u2019re supposed to be privacy for patients at the John F. Kennedy Medical (JFK) Hospital and all medical facilities?<\/p>\n

Authorities of the John F. Kennedy Medical alongside all nurses who were in charge of the late Sinoe county lawmaker are expected to appear Monday before the leadership of the Honorable House of Representatives to answer to question on the alleged breach of health privacy.<\/p>\n

It may be recalled photo of former Liberia icon ‘Quancy B’, dead body was also displayed minutes after Doctors at the JFK pronounced him dead on arrival.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,the management of the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC) attention has been drawn to the demeaning and unauthorized photographing of a patient who was admitted in the Medical Center. The Patient was admitted in a Private Room that was accessible to relatives, friends and office staff.<\/p>\n

We believe the photo circulating the social media could have only been taken by relatives and friends who had access to the patient during his admission.<\/p>\n

The Management strongly condemns this inhumane and horrible act and calls on individuals involved in the unauthorized recording, photographing and filming of patients within the premises of the Medical Center to desist.<\/p>\n

The Medical Center takes keen interest in the protection and promotion of patients\u2019 privacy and has since instituted a Patient Privacy Policy (PPP) which protects the privacy of every patient.<\/p>\n
