Henry Costa, CoP Remains Defiant on December 30 Demonstration

IPNews-Monrovia: Despite the government of Liberia through the ministry of Justice refusal to grant permit to Organizers of the December 30 planned ‘Weah step down’, demonstration, the founder of the Council of Patriots, Henry Costa has insisted on the ‘Weah step down campaign’- indicating that no amount of threats emanating from the arm of government would deter the organizers.

On Monday, the MOJ In a letter to the council of Patriots COP, Justice Minister Frank Musa Dean described as unconstitutional and speaks treason which is an offense of the internal security of the state as in article 76 of the constitution.

The Liberian Justice Minister warned that the leadership of the COP the group organizing the protest will be culpable and liable under the law.

The statement under the signature of Minister Musa Dean further states that, President Weah was duly elected for the period of six years, adding that any removal prior to the six years can be done through the process of impeachment as contained in article 62 of the Liberian Constitution.

But speaking to the Voice of America Tuesday Henry Costa the founder of the Council of Patriotic said the protest will take place because the citizens has the right under the constitution to do just that .
