Over One Thousand Students to Benefit from Rep. Edward Flomo Five million $ Scholarship

IPNews-Monrovia: Amidst the excruciating economy hardship in the country, Monsterrado County District 13 Representative Edward Flomo has made an initial payment of five million Liberian dollars cash to the Caroline Edward Scholarship foundatiom named after his late mother Carolina Edward.

The scholarship initiative is expected to benefit over 1,204 students from 56 schools in all 38 communities of district 13 Montserrado county amounting to ten million Liberians Dollars for academic year 2019/2020.

Representative Flomo’s donation of 5 million Liberian Dollars cash to less fortunate school going children in his district comes in the midst of the Liberian Government failure to pay lawmakers salaries and other benefits including scholarship fund for closed to four months.

Speaking during the weekend at his district office in the Iron Factory community, when he made the initial payment, lawmaker Flomo told the gathering that it was his personal initiative in building the human capacity of young people of his district which has been in existing for the past five years.

He disclosed that despite of he being a lawmaker companies including NPA, CEMACO, APM Thermal among other in his district have all refused to live up to their cooperate social responsibilities by contributing to such initiative….

For their parts, Madam Bendu Sagba principal of Freeway Baptist school where over 500 students are benefiting from the scholarship and Patrick Bartee of the Jimmy Jolocon High School thanked the district lawmaker for affording less fortunate students of his district to seek quality education.
