Liberia: Tragedy Hits Jackie’s Resorts In Ganta

IPNEWS: Police in the provisional city Ganta are investigating the mysterious death of a 19-year-old man identify as Chris Blessing Kollie after he was found dead at the famous Jackie’s Resort.

According to the report, Mr. Kollie died suddenly drowned in the Jackie swimming pool in Ganta City, Nimba County.

Chris B. Kollie was a member of the Royal life ministry attended a conference in Ganta including several members of the church from Yekepa at least spent three days at the conference before his sudden demised.

Meanwhile. Kollie on Sunday July 14, 2024, visited the Jackie Hotel for merry making where he met his untimely death.

Jackie’s CEO, Florr Seh Tomah, tells newsmen that the incident occurred unexpectedly after Kollie has gone swimming pool.

“Even though I was not at the facility when the situation happened, but my management explained that Kollie did not enter the pool with a lifeguard, and his body was not put out with water in the stomach nor water coming from the nose signifying drowning. However, the Police and the county Health Team are conducting their examination and investigation.” Mr. Florr Tomah stated.

He added that it’s his first experience since the opening of Jackie to the public.  The body is currently deposited at the Gompa funeral services as police investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, Doctors assigned at the Ganta United Methodist Hospital in Ganta City, Nimba County, have announced the death of two persons who were involved in a tragic motorbike accident along the Ganta – Sanniquellie Highway in District # 2.

The deceased are 22-year-old Daniel Tokpah, was riding the bike and a 50-year-old Passenger, Mark Bestman alongside a lady, who sat in the middle of the motorbike, losing her foot as a result of the incident.

The deceased, according to eyewitness accounts, met their death as a result of a truck belonging to mining company ArcelorMittal Liberia that broke down on the road with no reflector to indicate a breakdown.

The commercial bike then ran into the parked truck, causing the death of two persons and another passenger to lose a foot.

The Management of ArcelorMittal Liberia has taken full responsibility for the lives lost, including the wounded lady and the damaged bike.

Since the start of the first phase of the Ganta-to-Sanniquellie road, there have been frequent accidents on the route, leading to deaths
