The Standard bearer of the opposition Unity Party, former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, has thanked and congratulated the people of Liberia for turning out on November 14, 2023 to vote in the Presidential Run-off Election.

According to a statement released in Monrovia late Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the former Vice President expressed thanks and appreciation to the joint security for responding to minor disturbances at some polling centers.

He assured the Unity Party Alliance, well-wishers and sympathizers that they will do everything humanly possible in collaboration with international partners to protect the results of the votes cast on November 14.

Amb. Boakai, who served as Vice President to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, is urging all his party’s supporters and Liberians at large, to avoid the temptation of engaging in acts that could lead to violence but remain steadfast in pursuit of democratic transition.

The Unity Party strongman extended hats off to the Campaign Teams and all those who worked with them to ensure that they had a well-coordinated and decisive campaign.
