Busted! Deputy Foreign Minister Remains Tight-lipped On Misused of World Bank Projects Fund At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

IPNEWS:  The Integrity Watch Newspaper is reporting from multiple sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Deputy Minister for Administration Madame Thelma E. Duncan Sawyer can not account for over USD 140K of the World Bank special projects fund intended for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which was placed directly under her supervision to manage.

According to information the total amount of the World Bank Special Projects fund intended for the ministry was USD 340k but only 200k was expended by Deputy Minister Saywer on the ministry and she cannot account for the remaining USD 140K.

The ministry only expended 200K to purchase desktop computers, laptops, printers, stationeries, etc. And the balance money should have covered travels to 4 Missions including Award Program for best-performing staff at the Ministry but said amount has not been used for the intended purpose up to now” one of our inside sources explained.

Our undisputed source further revealed that Deputy Minister Sawyer has refused to inform the rest of the Senior management team on the status of the remaining USD 140K and there is no sign that she intends to do so.

Another source said the time frame for the project has expired and the balance of money is unaccounted for.

For the past two weeks, we have been making efforts to get Minister Sawyer to provide us with clarification on the matter but she has deliberately refused to provide us with any information on these allegations she has been accusing staffers in the ministry of leaking information to the media about her.

She even threatened to dismiss any staff of the ministry that would be linked to undermining her.

Several calls by the authoritative Independent Probe remain unanswered.  Investigation continues.
