Grand Chapter-OES Liberia Puts Smile on Faces of Underprivilege People

— Call for National Unity to Tackle the Proliferation of Drugs, And Other Substances

IPNEWS: The General Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Masons, Republic of Liberia, has donated Food and nonfood items to two rehabilitation centers across Monrovia as part of its ongoing Charity program.

The donation which was graced by members of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Most Worshipful Grand Masons Lodge of the Republic of Liberia, visited two Safe home for underprivilege youths commonly known as ‘zogos’.

Speaking at the turnover ceremony, the Worthy Sister Rosa Allen, Grand Matron, General Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, stated that the donation is part of the General Grand Chapter’s way of giving back to society and humanity through the area of Charitable works.

Grand Matron Allen accompanied by an array of Past and current Matrons and Patrons of the OES, said the OES remains very grateful that it could bring smiles to the faces of young people who continued to battle the horrors of drugs addiction.

She lauded the facility managers of the safe homes-stressing that the General Grand Chapter will continue to support and contribute hugely towards the human capital of Liberia, especially through the provision of Health care services, scholarship, and financial aid to various orphanages, safe homes and Rehab centers.

Grand worthy Matron Allen said as part of its charity mission, the OES will endeavor to always give back to the needed in society.

She said their presence of the New Density Recovery Center, to ensuring the recovering of Young Men and women from the dragnet of drugs at various ghettos is remarkable and call on other charitable organization to support their work.

The General Grand Worthy Matron recounted the OES earlier visit to the Density Recovery center facility early April when she witnessed the remarkable work the center was doing for young men recovering from drugs.

She stated that being overwhelmed with their work, she rallied members of the OES for the donation and promised the General Grand Chapter willingness to providing much needed food and nonfood items to the center.

The donation included seventh bag of Rice, assorted food and nonfood items such as sugar, Red and agro oil, Chicken cartons, Vita cubes, clothing, among others.

For his part, Worthy Brother Charles B Allen, presiding General Grand Patron, encouraged the underprivilege young people (zogos) at center to see Jesus as their savior that after the Rehabilitation program has ended they would now be reintegrated into society to make great impact for mama Liberia.

Presiding Grand Patron said the issues of drugs and the proliferation is serious and claim the attention of all by taking meaningful actions to make the Liberia a drug Free country once more.

According to the presiding Grand Patron Allen the only way Liberia can be a drugs Free country is by a collective effort of all Liberians and the people who in decision making-noting that if care is not given to ending misused of drugs, the generation of Liberia will be lost to drugs.

He added that as part of their Charity mission they will do all it takes to sure that they provide the needed services to the people of Liberia especially those who do not have the means of providing for themselves including other underprivilege children.

Also, at the New Density Recovery center the Deputy supervisor of the center who spoke on behalf of the institution expressed gratitude to the General Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star for the donation especially at a time where the only food they had for the young men undergoing rehabilitation was about to finish.

Edmond Johnson said he was out of words with the huge donation rice and other food and nonfood items that will last them a longer time up to the next six months.

He expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Order of Eastern Star and the Grand Lodge of Masons of the Republic of Liberia for being their major partners in the provision of food and nonfood items to take care of the patients (zogos) currently at the center.

The Order of eastern star and the Grand Masons lodge of Liberia, also pay visit to Liberia Record Foundation, providing similar services to young people who are involved with drug addiction.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony in red light community, the Chief Executive officer of the institution said she was glad to see the Order of Eastern Star and it members coming to aid at a difficult time at the center.

Madan Miatta Kamara said the donations come at the time when all of their foods and nonfood item are all finished.

She added that the center was treating about twelve young people with drug addiction and expressed optimism that they were now recovering early as previously projected.
