Simeon Freeman Unravels Sanitation Problem in PHP Community

The political leader of the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC) on Thursday afternoon joined Residents of the PHP Community in Central Monrovia to open and construct a modern drainage that will help residents during the rainy season.

Speaking to cross session of residents of the PHP Community, Simeon Freeman said the last time he was in the PHP Community the residents asked him to help them open the major drainage that why is why he was there to assist.

He said they wanted him to contribute to the purchase of a transformer and to open the water way that will help them in the coming raining season.

According to the political leader of the MPC, the residents told him that during the rainy season the water always over floor the community and they didn’t have any community toilets which poses serious problem.

“I am called here today because the people want me to help them that’s why am at this community to see how best we can make our manful Contribution to society”.

He said they are going to modernize the drainage at the cost of 4,000 USD that will to help improve the living conditions of the people of PHP and they are going to build their drainage with cement and steel rods in the coming days.

The businessman-turned politician said the issues of sanitation is a major problem in Liberia especially central Monrovia but people who are expected to do their work are not doing it thereby making citizens to live in unhealthy conductions.

Still at the PHP Community, the MPC political leader at the same time provided cash to the young people of the Community who volunteered their services for the opening of the various community drainages in other for them to buy food and water while the works are ongoing.

Meanwhile making remarks at the Project site, the Chairman of the PHP Community said their community has been suffering water issues leading to floods during the rainy season, and since 2014 the community doesn’t have any public toilets.

Chairman Prince Clark said “it is time that all citizens come to the need of the people not only PHP Community but other parts of the country and that’s why Simeon Freeman has come to help us.”

He said they were very happy have seen him, as other national leaders who had been invited to help them refused to come to their need. “This is what we call love for country and we are pleased to see Mr. Freeman in our community.”
