IPNEWS-Monrovia: The wife of the political leader of the opposition Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) over the weekend told local Women that she and her husband Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings will not forget about them if he takes over of the country, as they will always be with the people of Liberia during and after the elections as they have been doing over the years.
Addressing the Ablejay Women’s for Development in Owens Grove District on Saturday, Madam Teresa Cummings stated she as a mother of two and Grandmother of five, know what it takes to provide for the children especially in Liberia where mothers have to go sell in the streets and even make farms before they get food for their children.
She said if every time she walks and drives through the streets of Monrovia and its environs she sees children under age selling in order to help their mothers that which needs to be stopped and this is why she started her Community outreach throughout the country to know the actual reality of what the women go through.
Mrs. Cummings added that women’s are important to the development of the country as such they need to be taken care of by providing loan that will enable them contribute to the development of Liberia through their little businesses.
According to her, the vision of her husband, Mr. Alexander Cummings is to see the young people of Liberia have access to more jobs that will stop them from stealing and take in drug but rather will be useful citizens.
She said if the country must develop the young people need to be developed thru basic skills that will make them meet their full value through education.
“I am not a politician but a mother who wants to see something good come out of the children, young people and the Women’s of Liberia”.
The CPP political leader’s wife said she and her husband have over the years helped the Liberian people in health, education through the Cummings Africa Foundation, that over the years benefited many and they are happy to contribute through this means.
She noted as part of their way of helping the people of Gieah town, she than presented LRD 50,000 for the renovation of the only Elementary school in the town and promised to get back to them in the coming months.
Speaking on behave of the Ablejay Women for Development Martha Quaingar thanked Mrs. Cummings for coming to their needs during the time they needed her especially for the children of their by providing such amount of money for the renovation.
Madam Quaingar said Mrs. Cummings is the second presidential aspirant wife who had gone to their town something that indicates they are ready to take over the Country from the hand of bad leaders who have suffered them for over six years.
She said they are not working, the only way of life for them is to sell their products from their various farms and it time that Cummings and his wife help them with loan that will make them to sell and take care of their family.
Early Saturday afternoon Mrs. Cummings was received by the Traditional Leaders and Elders of the town and was presented the normal traditional white rice and kola nut.
The program brought together several citizens from Grand Bassa County both from the Liberty Party, the Alternative National Congress and the CPP leadership of Grand Bassa County.
