People believed to be supporters of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) had reportedly converged on the Old Road to attack the home of District #10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah, after being prevented to do alleged voters trucking in the District

IPNEWS: Several persons were reportedly injured Friday, March 24, evening in the wake of voter registration-related disturbances that broke out in Montserrado County District-10.

The Independent Probe Newspaper (IPNEWS) cannot say who were involved in the disturbance. It erupted in the district less than 24 hours after Rep. Kolubah, staunch critic of President Weah and his regime, complained that people he said were agent provocateurs of the (CDC), had planned to attack his residence.

The number of persons reportedly wounded during the hullabaloo is unknown.

Few days before the Friday evening’s bruhaha, it had been alleged that the ruling CDC was transporting people into the district with the aim to vote against Kolubah and in favor of Commerce Inspector General, Miss Josephine Davies, a stalwart of the ruling party. Ms. Davies has expressed her desire to contest for the Montserrado District-10 seat in upcoming October 10, 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections.

This newsaper has not independently confirmed the alleged voters trucking by the CDC, but there have been incessant media reports that some aspirants are engaged in the act across the country.

Recently, Montserrado District-7 Representative aspirant, Emmanuel Dahn, alarmed that some of his fellow aspirants were trucking people into the district, but failed to call names.

Early this week, it was also reported that a group of angry residents of Jah Tondo Town in the City of Brewerville had attacked a bus of the National Transit Authority, NTA, on allegation that it was trucking over two hundred persons to Bomi County to register there, although they are not residents of the county.

No one has so far been arrested in connection to the repeated reports of voter trucking.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the reported disturbances in the Montserrado District-10, Montserrado Senator, Abraham Darius Dillion, has said he will visit the District on Saturday, March 25, to identify with fellow Lawmaker and opposition politician, Yekeh Kolubah.

In a related development, Rep. Yekeh Kolubah has complained to the Liberia National Police for what he termed as “agents provocateurs of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) coming to his District and residence to attack him with petrol bombs.” He said these agents provocateurs keep attacking him physically but the LNP is sitting idly by and allowing them to carry out mayhem against his person, but he will no longer sit by and allow thugs to attack him.
