Public Works Issues Traffic Regulations Due to Road Works along ELWA, Red-Light Junctions

IPNEWS-Monrovia: Due to the ongoing road works along the ELWA and the Red-light Junctions in Paynesville, outside Monrovia, the Ministry of Public Works notifies Drivers, Pedestrians and the General Public of the following traffic regulations effective Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 12 Midnight to Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 12 Midnight:

  • “All motorists heading from Kakata going towards Monrovia shall access the road opposite Coca Cola Factory which will then lead to the Pipeline Road as the main road will be blocked before reaching the Parker Paint Junction, thereby prohibiting access to Parker Paint Junction.
  • All motorists from the Coca Cola Factory Community going towards Duport Road and the ELWA Community will access the Soul Clinic Road and turn right using Dr. Swaray’s Clinic Road which then leads to the Zayzay Community Road. This will be a one-way access to motorists going towards Zayzay community roads.  Please follow all directional signages to guide the movement to your destination.
  • Motorists heading from the Zayzay Community Road going to Coca Cola Factory Community or Kakata Highway shall access Samuel Cooper Community Road by turning right after the directional signage and drive to the Soul Clinic Road and then when entering the Soul Clinic Road turn left and drive towards the Soul Clinic Junction.
  • Motorists heading from Coca Cola Factory Community towards Red-light or Monrovia will have another access opposite the Soul Clinic Road Junction on the right side. A directional signage will also be placed on the road for guidance

Meanwhile, it has come to the attention of the Ministry of Public Works that marketers who are selling in the construction zone are hampering the ongoing works along the Parker Paint and Red-light Junctions.

Therefore, the Ministry is kindly requesting all street sellers and marketers using the construction areas for marketing purpose to stop their selling activities beginning Wednesday, March 22, 2023 to Wednesday, April 12, 2023 as there will be no such activity allowed during the construction of the Parker Paint Junction.

Kindly note that the traffic will be controlled by the Liberia National Police Traffic Division all through the construction works at the Parker Paint Junction. All temporary traffic signages shall be installed at every location mapped on the Traffic Management Plan (TMP) detour mapping.

The Ministry of Public Works therefore solicits the cooperation of all including the Liberia Marketing Association, Motorists, Business Owners, the Liberia National Police and the General Public, as all is being done to restore traffic movement in the shortest possible time.”
