IPNEWS: Out of 50,992 individuals who have applied for the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) processes that is set to begin in March, 6,700 of them are to be shortlisted by the National Elections Commission for the exercise, according to a press release from NEC on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
The release said, the recruitment portal opened on January 30th and closed on February 6th, 2023, with 50, 992 applicants, of which 18,655 are females and 32,337 are males from across Liberia. The commission disclosed that a metric-based selection is underway with headquarters staff deployed to assist the magisterial team with the shortlisting and subsequent selection of the 6,700 workers for the BVR exercise.
Meanwhile, the release informed that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for additional screening through a computer-based test before a final list for training generated.

The NEC specified that the huge number of applicants received validates the overwhelming enthusiasm and desire of Liberians to participate in the electoral process.
