–PPCC Executive Chairperson in Europe for Training

The media report that efforts are underway in Liberia to transition from paper procurement to digital system.

The Public Procurement and Concession Commission (PPCC) has said it is intensifying efforts to get Liberia ready for the transition to a new digital or e-procurement system to ensure value for taxpayers and donors’ money.

“We have learned Public Policy and Change Management, which is very critical to enable Liberia smoothly transition to put the country and PPCC as well on par with other public procurement entities around the world,” the Executive Chairperson of PPCC, Cllr. J. Roseline Nagbe-Kowo made the disclosure to the media over the weekend via mobile phone from Istanbul, Turkey.

According to her, the establishment of the modern electronic procurement system is expected to be first in Liberia and could bring about efficiency and effectiveness in Liberia’s public procurement system.

“The introduction of the expected new digital procurement system could enhance improvement in the country’s public procurement system and bring about the very best to ensure value for money,” Cllr. Roseline Kowo noted.

“PCC is working tireless to mitigate few challenges that would occur because of the much talked about transition from paper driven procurement to a new digital procurement system.”

According to the PPCC boss, a lot of strategies will be employed by her procurement commission.

The head of PPCC said when she and few of her staffers return to Liberia from Turkey will practicalize what they have learned to professionally operate the new digital procurement system.

Cllr. Kowo pointed out that this will be “very instrumental and fundamental in elevating Liberia’s public procurement system”.
