- Abstract
The other day I read an article in Daily Observer on Vision2030 calling all citizens to get involved in the process of ensuring a better post-war Liberia. I was moved by this call because for the past 18 years (2004 to 2022) I have also become possessed with concerns about our nation’s future and the possibility of a unified Africa. Since the aftermath of our national Ebola crisis, I have decided to dedicate myself to the cause. Allow me to share with you my thoughts and future recommendation on this new vision of hope for the rise of a New True Liberia called Vision2030.
In this article, I wish to share my urgent comments regarding the way forward for Vision 2030. As we celebrate this upcoming New Year’s 2023, we have only 7 years left to make this VISION 2030 our collective MISSION as a Nation of Destiny for Africa. I believe our national history reflects the reality of God’s love and expectation for Liberia. As a former member of the True and Reconciliation Commission, I have come to realize Liberia as “A Nation of Destiny for Africa”. The urgent comments I share in this article are also in line with my personal research and educational public information campaign towards preparing a New Liberian Leadership Class capable of ushering this great nation into its Golden Age of Destiny prophesied about 100 years ago by our very our Liberian Prophet William Harris called the D. Twe Prophesy.
III. An Introduction and Overview of Vision2030 as I see it:
- The goal is to see a fully reconciled and unified Liberia by 2030 (national unity)
- To ensure a healthy and vibrant economy able to provide enough jobs for most if not all to work (full employment)
- To empower the local Liberian business community (Liberalization with diversity)
- To see a free, just, and transparent society with a set of core values among which is a strong sense of nationalism or patriotism including the full empowerment of women and youth by 2030.
- My General Comments Regarding Restorative Justice in Liberia and Vision 2030 :
My 1st impression of Vision2030 is its overwhelming concern for the social and economic development of the nation and its people. I feel, however; if we want this development process to be self-sustaining and not lead to future national conflicts, then we must ensure that the universal human development [1] of all Liberians is priority number one. By universal human development, I mean the development of the quintessence of what we are as human beings, not just the development of our external technical capacity. We are spiritual beings destined to live on earth as children of heaven, so our collective heart and character development centered on goodness and love must take priority if vision 2030 is to be sustainable. Look around you, who has made post-war “Mama Liberia” what she is today – A Failed State? We, as children of Mama Liberia, have. done this to her. Every one of us destroyed the oldest independent Nation in Africa, built on Christian Principles. We did it out of ignorance of God and a lack of love for each other. In I John 4:20 we are told the following:
” If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen” I John 4:20
Liberia’s twenty-four-year (24-year) civil conflict (1979 to 2003) period was the result of our spiritual immaturity and lack of heart and love for God and each other. This was especially true for our collective elected Leadership Class both political and religious. Until this ignorance and immaturity is resolved we cannot be victorious as a nation-state built on Religious Principles. Today we attempt to celebrate our bicentennial as the oldest independent democratic nation in Africa, ruled solely by people of negro descent. Yet an honest assessment of our achievements, as “One Nation, Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for All”, over the past 200 years, since the liberation of our pioneers from slavery in America, will show that our elected Liberian Leadership Class (LLC) has achieved nothing, relative to the Ideal of Good Governance. Instead, we stand in front of the Global Community as a FAILED STATE. Why? Because we foolishly choose violence over peaceful dialogue as a conflict resolution strategy. How do we differ from CAIN (Indigenous Liberians) and ABEL (Americo-Liberians) in Adam’s Family? Remember the Elder son CAIN was jealous of his Younger brother ABEL and decided to KILL HIM!
Since the beginning of human history, mankind has lived in a state of perpetual conflict instead of reconciling their differences via reasoning, centered on Truth and Love. Starting from the very first human family of Adam and Eve until now [2], all we have seen is conflict and struggle. Our diversity has been repeatedly seen as grounds for struggle instead of opportunities for beauty, growth, and peaceful co-existence. We are a Church going, and Mosque attending society, with many Society Bush Traditions. But yet we lack a TRUE understanding of GOD as our INVISIBLE TRUE PARENTS. Ultimately we are worshippers of the Devil and slaves to S.I.N. (selfish individual nature). We all need to be reborn physically as True Children of God our Heavenly Parents through their Avatar the Anointed True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind as the Lords of the Second Coming on Earth today. Read Rev 21:1-8.
In Liberia, the greatest minds and hearts amongst our leadership class have repeatedly overlooked our national destiny to be a model nation of “Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for all people of colored descent. here in Africa”. My ancestors the Americo-Liberians, left Racism in America and created Tribalism here in Africa. This was collectively done centered on Christ and Allah. How shameful is that! Even today, centered on that failure to love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ and Allah, we have become famous, not as the oldest independent nation in African history, but as the oldest failed state in African history.
This pattern will never change if we continue to ignore, especially in post-war Liberia, the importance of our spiritual heritage as a nation of destiny for Africa. Therefore, I Amb Rev Gerald B. Coleman, personally as a former member of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Liberia, call for the rise of a New Liberia, a Third Republic, instead of the resurrection of the Old Liberia. The Old Liberia failed its national destiny; both the 1st Republic centered on the Americo-Liberians, and the recently constituted secular 2nd Republic centered on Indigenous Liberians. As with Adam’s Family, we have gone full circle with violence bearing no good results, except Disease, Ignorance and wide spread Poverty. Of course the rich get richer and the poor get poorer in a Godless society. My brothers and Sisters the time has come for change post2023 !
In 1980 CAIN (Samuel K. Doe) killed ABEL (William R. Tolbert the God Worshipping Baptist Head of State of Liberia). Ten years later in 1990 ABEL (centered on Charles Taylor of NPFL and Prince Johnson INPFL) killed CAIN (Samuel K. Doe the Devil Worshipping Secular Head of State of Liberia). Clearly, neither the Americo/Congo Liberian nor the Indigenous/Native Liberians can save us from our Selfish Individual Nature (S.I.N.), a nature I have diagnosed in my recent book as C-CIMS or FALLEN NATURE linked to our collective blood lineage as Children of the Devil (John 8:44) seeking to become Children of God. Remember Lord Jesus’ words to the chosen people of Israel and their leaders:
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it” John 8:44
It was these bond words that led to Lord Jesus’ Death at the hands of those he loved. In 2010 the TRC submitted its final report to the people of Liberia, through the then CCIMS-infested [3] Leadership Class of the Unity Party, headed by H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (Noble Laurate). We specifically warned the Liberian People not to let the men and women of violence become their elected leaders. That advice was not taken.
As a result, both the Leadership of Liberia’s 1st and 2nd Republic have been unable to reconcile or transform our Culture of Violence into a Culture of Peace. In this way I see no need for retributive justice in today’s Liberia. We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). Instead, I recommend the rebuilding of a New True Liberia under True Parent’s Vision2027. We need to resurrect a New True Liberia out of the ashes of the Old False Liberia! This must be done through Character and Leadership education and the Holy Marriage Blessing of True Parents.
The Old False Liberia died a painful death twice, out of sheer ignorance; so, to resurrect it without a major paradigm shift of consciousness and values, centered on the True Love of God, would only lead to future failures again and again. We lack a leadership class capable of resolving our national crisis. We need to remember our heritage as a Nation of Destiny for Africa. Only Restorative Justice can guide us into God’s Ideal of Life, not Retributive Justice.
- Liberia: As a Nation of Destiny for Africa Centered on the Heart of True Mother (H.E. Dr. Hak-Ja Han-Moon):
What do I mean by Liberia is a Nation of Destiny for Africa? Remember our first flag had a cross not a star in the blue field, symbolizing our destiny to bear the cross for Africa’s liberation and ultimate unity, as Lord Jesus Christ bore the cross for the ultimate liberation and salvation of humankind from the sovereignty of E.V.I.L & S.I.N[4]. Also, our capital city was first called “Christopolis” not “Monrovia”, symbolizing our destiny to create a new city (or Republic) of God in a unified Africa. It was to be a CITY that CHRIST THE SON and GOD THE FATHER would be proud to call their own. This was the vision of a New Jerusalem in Africa. Even our National Seal reflected Noah’s Ark,, symbolizing our Pioneering ancestors arriving on the shores of a new Canaan destined to build a nation-state with freedom, liberty and justice for All people of color. Finally, our national jewelry the V-Ring symbolizes heaven’s H.O.P.E. (as in HEAVEN ON PLANET EARTH) for our VICTORY as “the Nation of Destiny for Africa”. Remember in Rev 3, Lord Jesus spoke the following to the Church of Philadelphia:
Revelation 3:12, NLT: “All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God (referring to one of twelve (12) Pillar Nation destined to stand with the Bride of Christ in Building the New Jerusalem Nation of God to be called the PARENT UN…read Rev 21:9-27), and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God (Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community…HPHC), and they will be citizens in the city of my God (Peace-Loving Global Citizens of)–the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name (Rev Dr. Sun Myung Moon)“.
Of course, a review of our recent civil conflict period (1979 to 2003), and the 174 years (1848 to 2022) of independent history, would clearly show heaven’s shame instead of pride with our national leadership ability. Thus, it is no wonder that heaven has allowed us a second chance to pioneer our true destiny, by allowing us the honor of being the first nation in Africa to elect a female President. Only the womb of a women can give birth or symbolic rebirth (to God’s Nation Liberia as Liberty In Africa) with the assistance of their husbands [5] as the Anointed Bridegroom. Madam Sirleaf’s elected leadership in 2011 re-enforces my thesis that Liberia, more than reconciliation, needs to be reborn as a New Liberia or a 3rd or 4th Republic, under the umbrella of Cheon-Il-Guk (as Parent-UN) to fulfill its responsibility as a Nation of Destiny for Africa.
As we prepare for elections2023 this will be our last chance, since post-war Liberia, to scrutinize those who say, “vote for me”. After the civil conflict period from 1979 to 2003 we turned over political power over to those who conceived, financed, and fought the civil wars. Many of them did so thinking they were patriots, fighting to liberate us from the self-centered corrupt leadership of the failed pioneers who tried to build this nation on Christian principles. Only now, after 13 years of peace under their own self-centered corrupt leadership, have we all come to understand that the results did not justify the means. Guns and violence have never and cannot resolve the evil in our hearts and minds. Only sacrificial true love (True Love as in ‘Living for the Sake of Others‘), and the sword of truth (Truth as in Heavenly Parent’s Godism) can cut through the darkness of selfish corrupt leadership and set this nation free to reach its true destiny.
From January 2023 forward we need to ask: “Who are these self-proclaimed leaders who dare seek our votes to lead us out of this living hell of poverty, ignorance and disease in the mist of abundance of wealth?”. We need to scrutinize the party more than the leader, because no “one person” can lead this nation anymore. Look at Madam Sirleaf’s Leadership centered on Unity Party. How can we trust the same Unity party again, or even the CDC party now! Good Governance requires the collective effort of True Patriotic Liberians working together for the sake of all of us. It will take a True Parental or Family party composed of a cross-section of our diversity, but linked to our common patriotic interest, to even understand our collective problems, let alone solve them.
- My Recommendations to Substantiate Vision 2030:
I propose the following as the way forward to secure better political leadership by 2030:
- 1. We should not allow people to run on individual tickets anymore. There is no accountability for their failures or successes. Some will say it is their democratic human right. I say what about their democratic human responsibility. Clearly responsibility is better carried by a group or Family them a single individual.
Look at the failures of Taylor’s government with the NPF (National Patriotic Front) and recently the failures of the Unity Party government under H. E. Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and H.E. Joseph Borkai. Sure, they did their best, but it was not good enough because the emphasis was not on human development and love of God and country. Instead, we saw token structures put in place but managed by a corrupt leadership class. And remember as a nation we have no transparent process of auditing or holding accountable our elected leaders. Look what happened when LRA Auditors tried to hold the CDC lead government accountable, they were simply murdered and buried. After elections our Corrupt Leadership Class can do whatever they want with impunity. This has been the case for all our democratically elected leaders since Post War 1997. Some even have the audacity to seek reelection after poor performance.
- 2. We should not allow second chancesfor failed parties. It only encourages mediocrity and corruption. If a party runs on a platform and fails to justify the results of their trust with the power, authority, and resources of our nation; they should be given a chance to sit-out at least one round of all elections, while reflecting and restructuring themselves for the future. After all, governance is not a game or human right. It affects all our present and future lives; thus, it should only be given to the best of our best, those who have shown responsible True Parental leadership as a Party. Standard bearers are just individuals thus it should be the Party’s collective responsibility to ensure Good Governance or willingly step-down for one term! But realize, the current Liberia in particular infected with C-CIMS, is incapable of Good Governance without the Blessing or Rebirth by Heaven. This is why I recommend a National Peace and Character Education program below.
- 3. We should limit the proliferation of political parties.I recommend seven as a maximum number. If we were to analyze the 30 to 40 political parties, we have in Liberia today; after allowing them to spell out their Vision, Mission, and Core values, we would see all their diversity embraced in at most seven core party structures. The constant flux of political parties is not the result of need, but rather the result of our political immaturity and the desire for selfish aggrandizement, even as the oldest independent democracy in Africa. Of course a one or two Party system is just as bad as we can see in Liberia’s True Whig Party’s history.
- 4. We should start a national peace & character education or leadership programto supplement our national reconciliation and governance reform process by upgrading the Quality and Character of our national leaders and civil servants. Our national fiber was destroyed, raped, and burned to the ground during the period from 1979 to 2003, yet today some of the very perpetrators along with their new leadership class are still posing as our national heroes, leaders, and honorable; while the victimized citizens of Liberia linger around the world displaced due to widespread poverty (linked to poor economic planning), ignorance(through poor quality education) and rampant disease (linked to poor global health care resulting in diseases such as HIV/AID, Ebola and Covid-19). We need to upgrade the quality of our leadership class by letting them face the historical truth of their failed responsibility and repent to God and Nation. The True Love Family Foundation for Peace and Developmebt in Africa has initiated a research project in partnership with other organizations along this line.
I propose with these four simple suggestions a new Liberia will gradually rise out of the ashes of our political past by 2030. Why? Because through these four constraints a new True Parental Liberian Leadership class, with heart and love for God and country, will be able to rise from our Youth, to challenge the current irresponsible Leaders, after the election of 2023.
VII. Towards the Full Implementation of Liberia’s TRC Process:
Remember in 2005 we as a people initiated a transparent TRC process to guide us back to sanity, harmony and unity. I was part of that commission and had the unique opportunity to travel throughout the land, listening to the painful hearts of victimized Liberians. How painful it was to see the fruit of our efforts pushed under the political rug of post-war Liberia. In hindsight, I realize it was inevitable because the very people who could make a difference for our nation felt marginalized or accused by the report instead of feeling repentance for their crimes against God [6] and their Country. In this way, one could say the TRC failed the TRUST imposed in us by Peace-Loving Global Citizens of Liberia. Let me apologized on behalf of my colleagues. But now together, via these base recommendations we the people have an opportunity to make a difference post2023. So please join me first in a moment of prayerful meditation and repentance for those we lost during our tragic Civil Conflict Period…. Amen.
Since leaving the TRC I have watched and prayerfully hoped for a change in governance – towards good governance. I prayed that the 12 years, from 2006 to 2017 under the leadership of the political womb of Africa’s first female president (H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and the Unity Party), would see the birth of a New United Liberian Leadership Class, capable of transforming or resurrecting our nation from DEATH to LIFE, as a prelude for our final march into perpetual peace and unity here in the motherland of a new Africa. This would have been the Golden Age of Our Destiny prophesied by William Harris as the D Twe Prophesy. But since the election of 2017, with the 6-year performance record of H.E. George Weah and the CDC-led Government as evidence, I realized I was only dreaming. Without the Special Blessing of God, we the people simply lack the leadership quality needed to properly rebuild a New True Liberia.
VIII. My Conclusion and the Way Forward:
I believe the future of vision2030 must balance generic skill/technical (Body-education) training with spiritual/character (Mind-education) development and nurturing to ensure the sustainable development of our nation towards its destiny by 2030. Therefore, I am personally spearheading a call for “True Parental Leadership [7]” as a new national leadership paradigm post-election 2023 and I challenge all good people who love this nation to join me and the True Love Family Foundation for Peace and Development in Africa.
I am ready to lead this national endeavor to ensure that Liberia, through ECOWAS and the recently formed AU, will be ready to fulfill its destiny by 2030. I have created a website outlining my plan of action for peace in Liberia called “True Love Plan of Action for Peace Now (TL-PAP) in Liberia”.
Through this site, I am proclaiming myself as a Heavenly Tribal Messiah for Liberia. I believe the time has come for the children of God to rise and reclaim this world for our Heavenly Parents by establishing Heavenly Parent’s Kingship on Earth through the Blood Lineage of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind. This heavenly kingship starts as a Family Kingship. My family have chosen to call ours “the True Love Family Circle”

ENDNOTES:
[1] Note, I didn’t say “Human Rights”. Today so much money is spent on human rights education without emphasizing “Human Responsibility”. The foundation seeks to focus on Human Responsibility as the Character Education needed by everyone to ensure their God-given Human Rights. Without the fulfillment of human responsibility, it is impossible to guarantee the fulfillment of human rights under the democratic system of the Rule of Law.
[2] By “now” I am referring to the United Nations as the current global extension of Adam’s family, After 60 years of striving to create a Peaceful Ideal World, the current CAIN TYPE-UN has failed. Thus True Parents are striving to create a PARENT-UN through resolving the most critical CAIN/ABEL UNITY problem centered on the wisdom of True Love.
[3] C-CIMS is an acronym referring to a Culture of Corruption, Impunity to the Rule of Law centered on the Selfish Individual Nature (S.I.N.) of Fallen Human Beings as children of the Devil.
[4] Here I use S.I.N. to represent the acronym “Selfish Individual Nature” and EVIL to represent the “Eventual Vaporization of Individualistic Lifestyle” via the True Love of God.
[5] With Christ as our national Bridegroom, Madam Sirleaf’s victory of 2011 symbolically placed Liberia and West Africa (ECOWAS) in the position of a Sixteen (16) Nation-State Bride in the waiting for their Bridegroom as the Lord of the Second Coming! The decision of the Peace-Loving Global Community to give the Noble Peace prize in 2013 to the H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Madam Bowen as a female Peace activist confirms heaven’s expectation for the Rise of a restored Eve to lead Africa back to the bosom of Heaven On Planet Earth as our New Hope. Note, in the same year 2013 H.E. Dr Hak-Ja Han Moon, the Only Begotten Daughter of God and Queen of Heaven’s Peace Kingdom proclaimed Global the beginning of the 1000 Year Rule of the Lord mentioned in Rev 20.1-6.
[6] The Old Testament Age laws clearly stated that lying, illicit sexual activities and killing are against the will of God.
[7] Our new political leaders pass election2017 need to exhibit the heart of love, respect, responsibility and capacity to build, nurture and sustain a new Liberia before qualifying for election. Just the old business of ‘Rice Politics” followed by corruption is not enough.
