By Jacqueline L. Dennis

A notorious criminal, Mohammed Dukuly also believed to be a ring leader of a gang in Monrovia has been arrested by the Liberia National Police around the border while attempting to escape over to Ivory Coast.

Police spokesman Moses Carter, told reporters over the weekend at the National Police headquarters on Capitol Hill in Monrovia, that Mohammed was the ring leader that led to the entire situation that caused the death of a 23-year-old young man Fitzgerald E Curry.

Mr. Carter said, the incident occurred on January 16, 2022, around the Steven Tolbert Estate on the former Somalia drive where two houses got burned down and looted by some individuals. He added that the Liberia National Police received a call from the victim before his demise and a team of officers immediately responded and went on the scene. He noted those who felt angry went on the rampage, thereby leading to the burning down of a house belonging to one mother Curry at the Steven Tolbert estate.

He said suspect Dukuly is currently in police custody at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police. “This suspect was arrested before, investigated, charged for Arm Robbery and was forwarded to court and to our best information  he was  sentenced  for 25 years, but today he comes out of prison just to commit act this is so sad” he lamented.

According to him, Justice will be serves, and the LNP will make sure to do further up  with Dukuly case  to make sure he gives account of his action, “this country remain a County of Law and not Country of men, mock Justice  has no space in our democracy, mock violence  has no space in our democracy and anyone who  engages  in mock Justice or mock violence will face the full weight of the law, if Liberia will be very peaceful  it will take Liberians to keep the peace.”

He said the LNP is  also in search  of five other suspects who are still  at large, but the LNP will do everything to insure that those suspects be arrested and they will also be  made to  account for the their actions.
