Judge Willie Sends former NSA Officer Human Trafficker to 25 Years Imprisonment

Criminal Court “A” Judge Roosevelt Willie on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, sentenced a former officer of the National Security Agency (NSA) Arthur Chancha to 25 years imprisonment for trafficking two Liberian ladies to Oman.

Defendant Chancha and his brother Samuel Chancha, conspired and misled the ladies that they had a job opportunities in Dubai that they would earn them Five Hundred United States dollars (US$500) monthly.

Judge Willie said the defendant has no criminal records as per a probationer report presented by the Ministry of Justice, but he has no right as a security personnel to have assisted and conspired with his brother who is in Dubai.

It can be recalled that defendant Arthur Chancha was indicated by the grand jury of Montserrado County on November 2, 2022, for Criminal Trafficking in person.

Judge Willie, has ordered the defendant to pay the amount of US$100.000 (One Thousand United States Dollars) in keeping with section 5 ‘A’ of the trafficking in persons law.

The defendant was also instructed to restitute the victim’s money in the amount of over Five thousand United States Dollars (US$5,000).

The defense also took appeal to the Supreme Court of Liberia after the final Judgment of Judge Willie.
