— But Clerk Challenges Dismissal

IPNEWS: The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia Sie-A-Nyene G. Yuoh has again dismissed one of her employees at the Judiciary.

Chief Justice Yuoh’s gavel hit another judicial employee of the Judiciary Branch of Government for undisclosed reasons.

It appears that the new Chief Justice appears to be getting tough day by day since the Chief Justice took the mantle of authority of the nation’s judiciary.

Less than a month, Chief Justice Yuoh target has hit three persons by flexing her muscles with the indefinite suspension of Judge Sikajipo A. Wollor from presiding over the 5th Circuit Court of Grand Cape Mount County for ethical misconduct, while ordering the immediate dismissal of Mr. Webster B. Wreh, clerk of the Tax Court for Montserrado County and now Cllr. Elisha Forkeyoh.

A leaked communication obtained from the Judiciary in possession of this paper revealed that former Chief Justice Francis Korkpor’s law clerk is challenging the illegal dismissed of the new Chief Justice of the High Court.

According to the leaked letter, Cllr. Forkeyoh who is a former Public Defender was reportedly dismissed by Justice Yuoh on November 15, 2022, in her chamber in presence of her current law clerk.

Justice Yuoh has since mandated him to surrender all judiciary properties including the keys to his office saying the Judiciary no longer needs his services.

However, Cllr. Forkeyoh has questioned Chief Justice Yuoh’s verbal dismissal though a letter dated on November 16, 2022, addressed to Justice Yuoh, with copies to members of the Supreme Court Bench is obtained by IPNEWS.

His letter, Cllr. Forkeyoh, stated that he is a civil servant and got employed with the Judiciary Branch of Government since January 6, 2011, after a rigorous vetting process by the Personal Department of the Judiciary and was assigned to the Supreme Court as Law Clerk and could not be dismissed in such manner.

Cllr. Forkeyoh maintained that as servant, he cannot be dismissed without a cause. This is the second time for Cllr. Forkeyoh has fallen prey to Chief Justice Yuoh’s action.

It may be recalled, Cllr. Forkeyoh was selected among several names to serve as one of the Relieving Judges by former Chief Justice Korkpor.

IPNEWS Judicial Correspondent further said that former Chief Justice Korkpor’s law clerk is requesting Justice Yuoh to rescind her action and vow to fight back legally as provided by law.
