The Ethicists, as they called their class, has journeyed in for so long along life’s path with great achievements and remarkable undertakings. Some members of this class of Ethicist, are now Lawyers, Doctors, Scientists, servicemen, public servants, Journalists, Administrators, Businessmen, and senior government officials, yet the love for their alma mater remains unwavering.
Saturday’s reunion retreat, characterized by tears of joy, blossomed by old-time friendship renewal was just another takeaway, interspersed with jokes, laughter and lots food and drinks in reflection of the long 22 years apart after high school.
At this reunion retreat, the class of Ethicists, discussed wide range of issues gear towards advancing prospects of support for their alma mater, the Collage of West Africa, and cultivating greater friendship.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the chief organizer of the retreat, Fox Leonardo T. Towalid, called for more cohesive partnership in shaping the agenda of the class, especially in supporting the alma mater and caring for one another in all aspect of life.
Mr. Towalid in retrospection of the tremendous strides members of the Ethicists class continued to make in the larger society and encourage all to jointly unite in forming a more closure bond to bring back the memories of the glorious days and prestige at the college of West Africa.
He further challenged fellow Ethicists to work towards advancing meaningful suggestions that would strengthen the Association both at home and in the diaspora.
The energetic organizer lauded all for their generous support to ensuring the holding of the retreat and called on others to get more involved in the workings and activities of the Ethicist class, especially by increasing the firm attachment and care for fellow Ethicist that are afflicted by illness and other societal challenges.
For his part, Chester A. Smith, a member of the class, serving as master of Ceremony, challenged members of the class to forge a more cohesive relationship and friendship rather than awaiting until the passing of a member of the class before conjugating.
Mr. Smith used the time to call for a moment of silence for members of the class Ethicists that had passed to the great beyond at the cold hand of death. Some of those Ethicists passing during the years under review are Charles Bobno, Saye Mayers, J. Wilmington Barnard, Lina Cassell, and Mosmaetta Demine.
Making rounds of intersectional view and other discussions, the Ethicists class agreed among other things to begin fundraiser and setting up of an acting leadership for the next six months, until others could join-in before a proper election would be held.
It was also decided that the leadership will set up social media pages to increase public awareness about the engagement of the class, set up various committees for the smooth operations of the Association, especially reaching out to sick and short-in members of the Ethicists class.
Special applause was accorded all female Ethicists who prepared and brought varieties of delicious food.
The Ethicists reunion retreat was attended by twenty-six members amidst heavy downpour of rainfall.
