Constituents Boo District No. 12 Representative George Samah

————-As President Makes Final Tour

IPNEWS: Residents of Montserrado County District-12 publicly boo their district representative, Dr. George Beyan Samah for reportedly abandoning the constituency.

The citizens also prevented the opposition lawmaker from making remarks at the town hall meeting during President George Weah’s county tour in Montserrado at the weekend.

The Opposition lawmaker became the first sitting lawmaker to be rejected by his constituency from making remarks at a program since President Weah embarked on the tour in February 2021.

Dr. Samah contested in the Lofa County by-election two times including the recent June 28, 2022, by-election but did not obtain three percent of the votes. The aggrieved citizens of the district told reporters that Representative Samah did not deserve to make any remark on behalf of the district during the town hall gathering for the manner in which he has allegedly been representing the area.

The situation became very dramatic as the program came to a standstill and citizens began chanting anti-Samah slogans. Both Representative Thomas Fallah and Senator Saah Joseph made several attempts to restore calm but to no avail prompting the swift intervention of President Weah by pleading with the angry citizens to disengage and be tolerant and politically sensitive.

Following the intervention by the Liberian Leader, Dr. Samah was only seen welcoming President George Weah to District No. 12. (Courtesy of Bana news)
