Youth for Change Grand Kru Chapter Launches Funds Raising Rally

–To Support County’s Debate Team

Youth for Change (YOC) Grand Kru chapter to embark on a fundraising exercise as J. J Dickson United Methodist high school represents the County in the upcoming Liberia National Debate Championship in Monrovia.

The coordinator of Youth for Change in Grand Kru, Samsum Weah has disclosed that J. J. Dickson high school has been qualified to represent the county in the tournament in Monrovia.

He said for students from Grand Kru to participate in the upcoming national competition is a boost to the education sector in the county, which according to him should be seen as an opportunity for the young people and students in the county.

Samsum further disclosed that seven students are expected to leave the county for the nation’s capital, Monrovia adding, that the team is expected to leave Grand Kru on the 15th of August 2022. He said the tournament will commence from August 21- September 5, 2022.

“Transportation to allow students to depart Grand Kru County to Monrovia is now a challenge to Youth for Change in Grand Kru, and we are seeking help from citizens, stakeholders and lawmakers in the county” Samsum stated.

He said the justification for the Debate Team is currently ongoing to choose the most competent and qualified students to represent the county from the J. J. Dickson high school in Monrovia at the Liberia National Debate Championship.
