Nigerians, Liberia Relationship Turning Sour

–President of the Nigerians Community Alarms over Security Malpractice

Monrovia – As Liberia celebrates  her 175th  Independence  day  alongside Nigerian  Head of State  with others, the President  of the Nigerians  Community  in Liberia, Mr. Harrison Eva Aniukwu is  calling on their president to advocate on their behalf  for cordial relations  between  Nigerians living  in  Liberia and  the Liberia government,  to make them live a peaceful life.

Speaking at the Independent day Celebration on Tuesday July 26, 2022 in Monrovia.  The Nigerian Community  in Liberia  President  said, Nigeria  has had a cordial  relationship with Liberia  over a long period both in  terms of peace  and crisis which  deserves  continuity in all sectors.

According to him, the security sectors in the country without naming any particular agency are in constant habit of harassing Nigerian nationals, seizing their properties under the intent that they are selling drugs, “which is a false alarm”, he claimed.

“Whenever they see Nigerians prospering they claim we are selling drugs and begin to go after  our citizens  on the daily  basis, searching  our homes and businesses places and taking away our  properties for no reason for no reason”,  Mr. Aniukwu asserted.

Mr. Aniukwu noted, they believe they should be friendly, based on the relationship and business investment they have in Liberia as they are the second highest business community apart from Lebanese in the country.
