Because she’s everyone’s mother,

She’s often treated like no one’s mother.

They call her “Mother” by name.

But care less for her in deed.

They make her cry to get their smile.

They make her bleed to satisfy their greed.

They cause her pain to get their gain.

They make her wretched to get their wealth.

They make her powerless to get their power.

They make her fall to get their rise.

They cause her disgrace to get their grace.

Loving her too much they brand as stupidity.

Exploiting her too much they hail as smartness.

Protecting her interest is hardly regarded.

Undermining her interest is highly appreciated.

Yes, they call her “Mother” by name.

But care less for her in deed.
