Margibi Women Appeal to Lawmakers to Rescue Trafficked Woman from Oman

IPNEWS: Duazon, Margibi – Several Duazon, Block ‘C’ Community’s women have joined a trafficked young woman’s mother to appeal to lawmakers of  Margibi County, to help her rescue her daughter from Oman.

The women directed their plead directly to Representative Tibelrosa S. Tarponweh, who represents Margibi County’s district #1; and Senator Emmanuel J. Nuquay. Duazon Community is situated in Margibi County District #1.

Ms. Amelia Tolbert’s daughter, Linda Fassue, commonly known as Tina, was trafficked to that Asian country several months ago.

According to Ms. Tolbert, her daughter was fooled and misled by one Pastor Nelson Paye & one Nana Bangura and trafficked to Oman. She narrated that Tina is being held captive, abused and inhumanity treated.

She further stated that her daughter can only be rescued if she pays US$2700 to her slave masters.

The other community women, who had joined their friend Amelia, all appealed to their lawmakers to please help their friend bring her daughter back home.

Amelia wept as she explained that her daughter told her that she has being raped, beaten and tortured.

“Tina said she works from morning till midnight and sometimes rest for less an hour and she is back to work,” Ms. Tolbert said.

She said Tina tells her that she cleans 20 bedrooms & bathrooms, after which she has to wash clothes all day, while at the same time working as a housemaid.

Ms. Tolbert narrated while sobbing that this has left her daughter very sick in health.
