County Attorney Mandates Police to Remove St. John Checkpoint

IPNEWS-Monrovia: The County Attorney of Grand Bassa Grand Mr. Randolph Johnson has ordered the removal of St. John Checkpoint in District Two.

Attorney Johnson on Thursday of last week mandated police commander William Johnson to remove the checkpoint without delay.

Addressing Journalists at the Administrative Building on Robert Street in Buchanan, Attorney Johnson said his mandate comes in a wake of too many reports coming from the checkpoint. He did not however whether the reports were negative or positive but the fact that he has ordered the St. John River checkpoint to be removed is a clear indication that something terrible was happening there a the detriment of commuters along the highway.

According to him, the police are presently investigating those reports and after that based on what the findings will be, the checkpoint will be placed back at the appropriate time.

He mentioned that security mechanism will also be put into place when all of the investigations are completed.

It can be recalled that the St. John Checkpoint was erected during the heat COVID-19 in 2022 to monitor the movement of people.
