Friends of Willie Dweh Makes Big Donation to Konobo District

IPNEWS: Friends of Willie Dweh, a political movement in Grand Gedeh county during the weekend presented a set of musical instruments to a local band in Konobo district.

The items include an audio mixer, amplifiers, set of microphones, and a 3.5kva generator.

Mr. Willie Dweh said he believes music is associated with a stress-free life, so it was expedient to buttress the effort of the group because they are positively impacting the mental well-being of the people.

He also added that the band’s songs have made the singers to be a unifying force in the district.

“Your songs don’t only entertain people. They console our minds and bring us together in a way that ordinary talking would not do. That’s why I want you to be fully equipped.” Mr Dweh said.

*Alonzo Brown*, head of the musical group, called ‘Ah-Souhn’ (awake, in the Konobo dialect) said the donation has added to their drive to bring people together through musical jamboree.
The group, known for its traditional funk and rhythm, is seen as a source of consolation during troubled times like bereavement and entertainment.
They are also noted for embellishing the festive seasons with the organization of music jam across towns and villages in Konobo.

The equipment, valued at US$2,300, will not only amplify the voice of the group, but will add quality to the tone of their music.
