LWSC Corruptions Saga Responsible for Liberia Failing MCC Scorecard – Says Green Revolution

IPNEWS-Monrovia: The pro-democracy and pressure group, Green Revolution of Liberia, through its National Chairman Varney Manja Gbassey Kromah, says it’s about time the government of Liberia takes seriously the fight against corruptions in this country. In a statement issued this week, Chairman Kromah noted: “Our sincere concern of good governance has never been to bring this government down as been insinuated by elements within the government who believe that it was only their labor that brought this government to power. Now see the effect which has further demonstrated high level of arrogance, naivety, ignorance and incompetence of the regime.”

According to the Green Revolution, there are available reports from established anti-graft institutions, including the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) clearly indicting officials of government on corruption activities, but the President has no political will to boot out these corrupt elements within his government. “PRESIDENT WEAH has refused to take action against Mr. Duannah Kamara of the Liberia Water & Sewer Corporation (LWSC), Ben McCarthy of the National Transit Authority (NTA) while so many hardcore corrupt officials from the National Port Authority (NPA) continue to occupy their offices without any fear of the laws,” Mr. Kromah stressed.

The Green Revolution of Liberia National Chairman further laments, “It is now becoming a taboo in Liberia as corrupt officials are using their proximity with the President to evade the laws of our land. From all indications now, corruption is authorized once you are a close associate of the President and his three friends.”

The pro-democracy and pressure group asserts that the arrogance of this government to believe that “our concerns are not value as they think, has resulted in the kinds of reckless decisions and actions they continue to take which is largely responsible for the overall double declining in governance framework of our country.”

Continuing Green Revolution of Liberia grieved: “You see how Liberia missed out on more than US$400 million from the Millennium Compact Challenge (MCC) for the 3rd consecutive year, is due to our inability to pass the benchmarks. Imagine we can’t even pass the benchmark on FISCAL POLICY under racket scientist Minister Samuel Tweah as Minister of Finance. Rule of Law, Primary Education, Child Health, we failed miserably in those other benchmarks.”

The National Chairman of the Green Revolution urges the LACC to unveil its report so that the citizens’ arrest can be affected on those who are greatly responsible for the bad name of the country.

Mr. Kromah concludes that Mr. Duannah Kamara, Ben McCarthy and others should be ready for them for citizens’ action if the anti-graft institution, LACC does not unveil its report so expose those corrupt officials in government.
