In the communication, Senator Lawrence indicated that sub-clause 2.2 of the contract document , the commencement date of the said management services contract is January 8, 2018.

Furthermore, she added that the instrument also States in sub-clause 2.3 that “ unless terminated in accordance with clause 24(Default and Termination), this contact shall be in effect until the third anniversary of the commencement date”.

“ Distinguish Colleagues, the third anniversary of the commencement date of this contract as clearly spelt out in sub-clause 2.3 on the duration of the contract, is January 8, 2018. To the best of my reasonable recollection, this contract has not been renewed and or extended in compliance with Liberian law” Senator Lawrence added.

The Grand Bassa Legislator at the same time solicited the support of Plenary to urgently intervene by citing the relevant authorities of the Liberia Electricity Corporation to appear before the oversight Committees and provide appropriate answers as to why they are illegally operating with ESBI Engineering and facility management limited without a valid contract.
