IPNews-Monrovia: Ahead of the December 8 Special Senatorial Election, a secret poll conducted in six populous’ counties has put Menikpakei Dumoe as the front-runner to sweep the first simple majority votes in Bong County, due to the Free Charles Taylor campaign launched few weeks into the campaign for the midterm Senatorial Elections.
The poll also assessed public perceptions of tomorrow’s Referendum in Montserrado, Bong, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Nimba and Lofa Counties. Researchers whose identity are being withheld told IPNews that they were hired by senior government Officials to mainly to assess the chances of a successful Referendum in six of the largest counties.
Executive Mansion is yet to respond to this latest survey following an inquiry by IPNews.
A member of the Research team told IPNews that they also assessed the Senatorial races across the six targeted counties to see how the all CDC candidates were doing.
The Study found that Menipakei Dumoe, the candidate running on a promise to free former Liberian President Charles Taylor is projected to win by a narrow margin ahead of Deputy House Speaker, Prince Kemue Moye who is projected to place second.
The acting Chairman of the Council of Patriots, Menipakei Dumoe, who was recently endorsed by Henry Costa on his social media pages is projected to pick up 32% of the votes while CPP’s Moye is expected to take 28% of the votes.
The polls also say most voters in Bong County will vote no to all items or decline Referendum ballots. The private experts found that only 20% of voters will give thumb up to the prepositions while a whopping 50% percent said they would decline the ballot .
If Menipakei Dumoe wins the highly contested Bong County Senatorial seat, it will show that Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor still controls the vote rich county.
Many in the media have speculated that the Vice President, Jewel Howard-Taylor has been secretly financing the bid of Menipakei Dumoe and calling key stake holders on his behalf. A claim yet to be substanciated.
Disappointed by the poor chances of incumbent Senator Yallah, the CDC is set to back Rep. Melvin Cole in the coming 2023 Senatorial race in a bid to counter VP Jewel Howard Taylor’s ability stop the ruling party in Bong County.
Here in Montserrado County, the survey predicts a neck-to-neck race which are far to determine between CDC candidate Thomas P. Fallah and CPP Darius Dillon.
In Margibi County, the polls revealed that former House Speaker Emmanuel Nuquay , of the PUP, is projected to win, while CDC Alvar Jones is projected to come second.
For Grand Bassa County, the polls revealed that incumbent Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence is projected to win, while CDC Gbehzohngar Milton Findley second.
In Nimba county, the race is expected to be a horse race with Edith Gongole-werh, CPP, projected to win while CDC Jeremiah Koung expected to come second.
In Lofa County, a little known Johnny Mdebe , of the Liberia National Union is expected to win, while former Defense Minister Brownie Samukai projectedcto come second.
