IPNews-Monrovia: The authoritative Independent Probe Newspaper has reliably gathered that Liberia’s Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus .
In a letter (travel Certificate) unearthed by IPNews, Liberia’s Minister of Health and current chair of the Incident Management Team, in a communication dated August 11,2020, tilted: “TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN”
Minister Jallah stated that: I am pleased to present compliments and inform you that H.E. Madam Jewel Howard-Taylor has been tested positive of COVID-19 on August 10,2020, and she has requested travel out of the country for treatment.”
“Based on the advice of her Doctor, the Incident Management System-IMS, is granting her permission to travel to seek treatment.” Dr. Wilhelmina S. Jallah stated.
Earlier this morning, the government information dissemination arm, the Liberian News Agency-LINA, reported that unconfirmed reports of VP Howard-Taylor being diagnosed with COVID-19, sparking speculation across the country.
It may be recalled, the office of Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor in a press release late evening yesterday states that Jewel Howard-Taylor, was on Tuesday August 11, 2020, flown out of the country to seek additional medical care at a specialist hospital in Accra, Ghana.
According to a Press Release from the Office of the Vice President, VP Howard-Taylor was earlier admitted at the Aspen Medical Facility, in Sinkor, Monrovia, on Friday August 7, 2020, due to respiratory complications.
Having favorably responded to treatment and the state of her health stabilized, it was advised that the Vice President seeks further medical attention at a more advanced facility with specialty in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory ailments.
