Emergency Response Unit (ERU) Celebrates 16th Anniversary

IPNEWS: The Emergency Response Unit (ERU) of the Liberia National Police (LNP) Thursday, October 3, 2024 celebrated its 16th anniversary at its Headquarters in Monrovia.

The program under the theme: “16 Years of Perseverance, Peace, Service and Dedication”, brought together several security experts and officers of the Liberia National Police.

Deputy Inspector General of Police for Administration, Hon. William K. Mulbah appreciated the gallant men and women of the Emergency Response Unit of the Liberia National Police for their services being rendered to the country over the years.

He disclosed that officers of the Formed Police Unit (FPU), comprising the Emergency Response Unit and the Police Support Unit (PSU) will shortly benefit from the United Nations Peacekeeping operations upon the completion of formalities.

DIGP Mulbah also encouraged the  officers to be steadfast in the discharge of their duties and functions in keeping with professional code of conduct.

At the program, officers of the elite unit received medals of honor from the administration of the LNP through the high command of the elite force.

The ERU was birthed on October 3, 2008 to provide rapid and specialized responses to critical incidents threatening public safety.  From counter terrorism to hostage rescues, riot control to high risk arrests, search warrants and maintaining peace and order in Liberia.
