IPNEWS: Bomi County Senator, Edwin Melvin Snowe has alarmed over what he termed as the β€œdeplorable condition” of Monrovia, the Capital City of Liberia, as he emphasized the need to address the awful condition.

Senator Snowe emphasized that the City of Monrovia does not reflect the image of Liberia in this 21st Century, as he rallied the Liberian Senate to take concrete steps to address the situation.

Speaking Thursday, September 5, 2024, in the Chamber of the Senate on Capitol Hill in Monrovia, Senator Snowe pinpointed the Palm Grove Cemetery and abandoned buildings such as the old Ministry of Education building on Broad Street as bad reflection on the city.

He urged the Plenary of the Liberian Senate to muster the political will to take drastic action to relocate the Palm Grove Cemetery to enhance the beautifications of the Capital City of Monrovia.

Senator Snowe pointed out that it is about time that the government institute measures that will compel owners of abandoned buildings to undertake renovation of their properties or the government take charge of them.

Senator Snowe stressed that the beautification and decoration of Liberia’s Capital should claim the attention of government actors.

He stressed that the Capital City of any nation represents the people of the country and the developments that are ongoing, as he expressed disappointment that the City of Monrovia has not been attended to over the years. π‘©π’š π‘ͺπ’‚π’π’—π’Šπ’ π‘©π’“π’π’π’Œπ’”
