IPNEWS: The plenary of the House of Representatives has mandated its Committees on Ways, Means and Finance and Public Accounts and Expenditure to proceed with the process of scrutinizing the 2024 draft recast budget.
Recently, House Speaker Cllr. Fonati Koffa suspended all discussions on the 2024 draft recast but pending investigative report from its specialized committee setup to probe allegations of alteration of the 2024 National Budget.
Meanwhile, the house’s decision to commence deliberation on the draft recast budget followed a recent report from its specialized committee revealing that the approved 2024 National Budget was tempered with.
The disclosure to commence discussions on the draft recast budget was made by deputy house Thomas Fallah on behalf of the leadership of the House of Representatives.
