I[NEWS: The House committee chair on rules order and Administration Representative Josiah Marvin Cole is calling on President Joseph Nyumah Boakai to insure the prosecution of Government officials in Fairness, rather than driven by political agenda.

The Bong County District #3 lawmaker call comes amid rising tensions within the political landscape of Liberia, particularly concerning allegations against members of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC).

Rep. Cole highlighted a grave incident in Foya, Lofa, where he claimed that CDCians were “murdered in cold blood.”

He pointed specifically to the case involving Unity Party militant Queen Johnson, who allegedly facilitated an act during the campaign that led to the murder of CDC supporter Joshua Solomon.

Cole expressed deep concern over the government’s failure to prosecute those responsible while simultaneously appointing them to positions within the administration.

The District #3 lawmaker averred that as a government that claims to have come to rescue the Liberian people, it is paramount that we conduct audits and investigations on a holistic basis, instead of allowing party sentiments to dictate our justice system.

He criticized President Boakai for what he perceives as biased justice, asserting that the current administration appears to be targeting only CDC members.

The representative went on to warn that the continued focus on prosecuting members of the CDC could jeopardize the fragile peace that Liberia has worked hard to maintain.

Representative cole stated that government must refrain from engaging in actions that might further divide our nation.

It is imperative that justice is pursued fairly and equitably, rather than as a means of political retribution,” he urged.

Cole’s remarks come at a crucial time when the Liberian government has faced scrutiny over its handling of political dissent and the perceived inequities in its judicial processes.

The District #3 Lawmaker made these resounding remarks at an interlectual forum held at the Gbarnga intellectual center.

His call for fairness resonates with many who seek a more just and unified approach to governance in the country.
