Liberia: ULAA Delegation Heads to Liberia to Strengthen Partnership with New Government

IPNEWS: A delegation from the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) will depart the United States this week and arrive in Liberia on July 20, 2024, to meet with officials of the Liberian government. The visit aims to strengthen the partnership between the new Liberian government and the new administration of ULAA headed by Hon. Mohammed Keita.

The delegation led by Hon. Stephen Binda Sr, Chairman of External Relations, includes several representatives from various Liberian associations across the United States. Other members of the delegation include: Hon. Anthony Kpayea, President, Liberian Association of Central Jersey and Metropolitan Areas, ), Hon. Bush Tarty, Assistant Secretary, Records and Minutes, Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), Reverend Sekou Sirleaf, Assistant Secretary for Media Relations, ULAA, Hon. Cooper Kweme, member, Liberian Community Association of Washington DC Metro and Robert Wesley, Chairman, Board of Directors, Liberian Community Association of New York.

While in Liberia, the delegation will hold talks with Liberia’s Vice President, Hon. Jeremiah Koung, House Speaker, Hon: J. Fonati Koffa, Information Minister, Hon Jerolinmek Piah, Foreign Affairs Minister, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, among others. Discussions will surround out-of-country voting for Liberians in the diaspora in general and presidential elections, investment and trade opportunities for diaspora Liberians, immigration, strengthening sister-city relationships between US cities and cities of Liberia, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

The delegation will also attend Liberia 2024 Investment Conference and meet with various public and private stakeholders. Meanwhile, upon arrival, the delegation will be received by Hon. Charles B. Blake, Diaspora Consultant, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
