Liberia: 1st Batch of Controversial Yellow Machines Arrived, But….

IPNEWS: The first batch of the controversial yellow machines are now packed the EBK Military Barracks awaiting the remaining consignment.

Liberian government paraded with the first batch of 285 earth-moving machines and trucks in what pro-government political pundits termed as significant step to improving the country’s road network including farm to market roads across Liberia.

Earlier in  May 14, 2024, during a three-day retreat led by H.E. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, by Minister Mamaka Bility, made the pronouncement sparking controversy and skepticism as why such announcement not made by President Joseph Boakai or officials of the Public Works.

Others, particularly the opposition CDC which termed the news of the coming of the yellow machines as mere bluff and another propaganda of falsehood. 

However receiving the yellow machines Saturday, July 6, Minister Bility, on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, stated that the first batch of the machines at the Freeport of Monrovia was a demonstration of the Unity Party resolved to make road inaccessibility a history.

The new equipment will h inscription “made in China” will be stored at the EBK Barrack in Monrovia until the rest of the shipment arrives

“Thank you, our talk-and-do President. We trust you, and you’re not making us ashamed. We believe in you”, Cross section of onlookers sang.

Minister Bility further emphasized that machines are crucial for Liberia’s road construction efforts, especially helping to build and maintain essential infrastructure, including the creation of additional jobs for other young Liberians.
