Pres. Boakai’s Son Charges Nigerian Youths on Hard work, & Unity

IPNEWS: Tamba Boakai Jr, son of Liberian President, Joseph Boakai, has called on Nigerian youths to imbibe the spirit of hard work, unity of purpose and education, saying that only these will make them excel in life.

Boakai, who made the call during his historic visit to the traditional ruler of the Olu of Orile-Ilawo, Oba Olusegun Alexander Macgregor, in his Ilawo palace, also commended the rich cultural heritage of Yorubaland.

He encouraged the youths to strive for excellence and become ambassadors of their rich cultural legacy.

Tamba Boakai, during the visit was received by Olu of Orile-Ilawo, Oba Macgregor and his wife, Omolara in his Ilawo palace, and was treated to a warm reception, which was a testament to the strong bonds between Liberia and Nigeria, and the significance of Ilawo, as one of the pillars of Egbaland.

Oba Macgregor later led him to the palaces of Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Gbadebo and Olowu of Owu Kingdom Abeokuta, Oba (Prof.) Adeola Matemilola. He was christened ‘Adewale’

Boakai and his delegation was treated to a vibrant display of Yoruba culture; including traditional music, dance, and attire.

Speaking at the reception, Tamba Boakai Jr commended the hospitality of the Ilawo people and the town’s efforts in preserving its cultural heritage.

It would be recalled that Ilawo; one of the oldest towns in Egbaland, has maintained its traditions and customs, making it a significant cultural hub in the region.

The visit has strengthened the bond between Liberia and Nigeria, fostering greater cultural exchange and cooperation between the two nations.
