Beatha Foundation to Host Day of the African Child Celebration; Does Official Launch

BEATHA Foundation, a Liberian non-profit organization, will on Saturday, June 15, officially launch the Foundation and host the celebration of the Day of the African Child under the theme: “Quality Education for Every Child: The Time Is Now.”

The event is scheduled to take place at the Gardnersville’s Wesleyan Church in Stephen Tolbert Estate.

BEATHA Foundation, a registered non-profit organization, is dedicated to the development of a productive society. Its comprehensive programs include strengthening the capacity of women and children in Liberia through educational support, mentoring, vocational skills development, and community outreach interventions.

The Day of the African Child, which signifies the quest and dreams of children to have a better quality of life, including education, is a significant occasion to promote children’s welfare and highlight the need for equal access to educational resources in our current realities. Children have rights and must be protected at all times. Society is under obligation to ensure that they receive the necessary empowerment so they can enjoy life as anticipated in the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and the International Convention on the Rights of a Child and its Optional Protocols.

In view of the above, the celebration aims to empower the younger generation by providing key messages through meaningful discussions and educational enriching activities that will draw their attention to issues affecting children worldwide and develop in them a sense of global citizenship. The event will also officially introduce the Foundation and set the tone for the implementation of programs that will contribute to its vision. The program will create awareness on the important of quality education and obtain inputs from a diverse range of stakeholders for the implementation activities and projects for Beatha Foundation. Stakeholders expected to grace the program include educators, civil society actors, members of international organisations, members of the Legislature, as well as students.

BEATHA Foundation looks toward to being a catalyst for children to realize their dreams.
