IPNEWS: President Boakai’s decision comes as a result of an ongoing fight between the Director General of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency Abraham Kromah and his two principal deputies.

A release from the Ministry of State and Presidential Affairs revealed that the President has in the meantime ordered an investigation of the events occurring at the Agency on June 3, 2024.

The release further quotes the Liberian leader as saying, “the acts of disorder and chaos that took place at the headquarters of the LDEA were unacceptable” stressing that such acts threaten public peace and undermine Government’s fight against illicit drugs.

President Boakai has named Mr. Christopher Peters, as Officer in Charge of the Agency pending the conclusion of the investigation.

It can be recalled on Monday, June 3, 2024, a serious fistfight ensued between the two LDEA bosses, Director Abraham Kromah and Deputy Director Hassan Fadiga leading to the intervention of the Liberia National Police.

The situation has caused serious embarrassment for the UP government with many top government officials calling for the dismissal of the two LDEA bosses for their actions.

Meanwhile, reacting to the situation Tuesday, LDEA Deputy Director Hassan Fadiga claimed that he was allegedly assaulted by Director General Abe Kromah’s Personal security which resulted to the fight.

According to him, his fire Arm was taken from him unexpectedly and further restricted his movement by subjecting him to sit in the Director General’s office.
