Liberia: Cassell Kuoh To Launch Women’s Football Academy

IPNEWS: The Chief Executive Officer of Kuoh Foundation- Africa, Cassell Anthony Kuoh, has announced plans to launch Liberia first women’s football academy.
The academy when launch, will be the first female football academy in West Africa and it will set the stage for female athletes to thrive and excel in their football careers, offering a clear pathway into higher level womenโ€™s football.
Already, the Liberian businessman man is operating a male academy known as FC Fassell academy.
Recently, the youth team made history by securing third place in the international youth tournament in Turkey, defeating SABAH BAKU U-15 by 1-0 to be crowned the 3rd place winners of the 2024 Youth World Cup held in Antalya, Turkey.
Serving as guest on the Monday, June 3, 2024 edition of the OK Morning Rush, the FC Kallon-Liberia CEO made the disclosure about the establishment of the academy in the coming months.
“This initiative aims to provide aspiring female footballers with a comprehensive sports education while nurturing their passion for the game” he said.
According to him, the academy willย  ensure that students receive quality training from a team of highly qualified and experienced coaches.
The Former Liberia Football Association Vice President for Operation said the programme and will further support the players in their development on and off the pitch.
“Our goal is to empower young women and provide them with the necessary skills and guidance to succeed in the world of football and help students reach their maximum potential both on and off the pitch.โ€ he concluded.
The academy will provide girls โ€“ aged 12 to 18 โ€“ with access to football training three times a week.
The program will be accompanied with life skill education, which will include teachings on womenโ€™s rights in the areas of gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and economic empowerment.
Program graduates will be encouraged to use their leadership skills to make a positive impact in their communities.
