Call for National Unity and Diligence Shadows First Cabinet Retreat

IPNEWS: The first cabinet retreat of the Unity Party government under the stewardship of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has ended with a call for national unity and diligence to service by members of the cabinet.

President Boakai addressing the gathering at the opening of the Cabinet Retreat, emphasized the government’s commitment to service and the imperative of delivering on national priorities.

The retreat, themed “Coordination and Performance: Delivering on National Agenda Priorities,” marks a crucial juncture in the administration’s trajectory, following the first 100 days in office.

In his opening remarks, President Boakai underscored the gravity of the government’s mandate, stating, “Our sole purpose in government is to serve.”

He commended the efforts of Cabinet members, officials, and staff in advancing the government’s agenda despite time constraints and limited resources.

The President reiterated the government’s pledge to effect transformative change and urged officials to embrace a spirit of unity and dedication. “It is no longer business as usual,” he declared, challenging attendees to prioritize hard work and unwavering commitment to national development. Highlighting the global challenges and opportunities facing Liberia, President Boakai emphasized the need for the nation to compete on the international stage and set high standards for progress. He called on officials to eschew corruption and self-interest, urging them instead to uphold their duty to the Liberian people.

“For me and the ARREST Agenda, failure is not an option,” President Boakai asserted, underscoring the administration’s resolve to deliver on its promises. He urged Cabinet members and officials to work collaboratively toward common goals, emphasizing the importance of collective action in shaping Liberia’s future.

The President concluded by expressing confidence in the outcomes of the retreat and reiterated his commitment to advancing Liberia’s development agenda.

“Let us always think Liberia, love Liberia, and build Liberia,” he concluded.
