According to pair told IPNEWS that the murder of 29-year-old Charlor Musu occurred without evidence of intruders, especially the lack of Madam Scott defense team to proof otherwise was an integral part of a guilty verdict and must not misunderstand otherwise.

President Boakai recently withdrawn the nominations of Cllr. Bobby Livingstone as Deputy Minister-designate for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Mr. Joseph Cooper as Executive Director-designate of LRRRC, and Adana S. Paye as Assistant Minister for Corrections & Rehabilitation in the Ministry of Justice. This decision signified a change in the President’s initial choices for these positions.

Upon receiving the President’s communication regarding the withdrawal of the nominations, the Liberian Senate acknowledged and respected his constitutional right to nominate and withdraw officials.

Narrating further as a respond to his withdrawal, Cllr. Livingstone expressed his gratitude to President Boakai for initially nominating him. However, he made it clear that he stands by his actions as a prosecutor and feels no apology is necessary for his role in the prosecution of the case involving Madam Gloria Scott.

But a joint statement issued by the two young criminal lawyers acknowledged President Joseph Bokai’s call to duty by nominating them to serve as Assistant Minister for Litigation at the Ministry of Justice, and Deputy Minister-designate for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information respective, stressing that the decision by the President not to manifest his intent by forwarding their names to the Senate for confirmation are the sole rights of the president.

However, the pair contended that there was no need to write the Senate withdrawing their nominations because there was no nomination in the first place.

“My name was never forwarded to the Senate. So the Senate does not know any Cllr. Lafayette B. Gould, Sr, as a nominee.”-Gould said

Both Cllr. Livingstone & Cllr. Gould  stated whether the President gives a reason or not, it’s less of interest to them.

“ The explanation of the president is his and not ours, but one thing we know is that we will never regret the performance of our duty as a prosecutor. We took oath like any other public official, to support, uphold, protect, and defend the constitution and laws of the Republic of Liberia, bear true faith and allegiance to the Republic.”

“We worked under the Weah government for six years, boldly speaking truth to power, and we will live here for the longest and continue to speak truth to power. Thank you, Mr. President for announcing our name to the world. You have done your part, God will take it from where you left it.” Cllr. Livingstone & Cllr. Gould stated.
